johns
I'm wondering if anybody has had success with growing sundews (capensis in this case) from seed in a propagator/covered seed tray on a sunny windowsill. The daylength will soon exceed 13 hours, so there should be enough light. But I'm concerned that it will get too hot in the direct sunlight. Alexis
I don't think you need a propagator. A sunny windowsill should be enough.
johns
I don't think you need a propagator. A sunny windowsill should be enough. The relative humidity is quite low, perhaps 30%. Wouldn't covering be beneficial for germination?
gardenofeden
no, covering will just lead to fungal problems, and overheating the humidity in my greenhouse in summer is usually less than 30%
jimscott
No need for sophistication at all. Actually, you need an exterminator or a disease to hold down the population!

I too agree with Alexis I only really use propagators for nepenthes seedlings Besides, having tiny seedlings in a propagator, in the sun, could cook them.
