Kiwi Earl
Here's what happens to your outdoor Sarracenia collection when a good storm hits. Bummer........ (first photo shows what it looked like a short time before) Edited February 1, 2011 by Kiwi Earl
mrAlmond
Oh yes...that's the main problem of not having a greenhouse...and in this case you are lucky because it seems you didn't get hail! Some years ago my Sarracenia collection was almost destroyed by a storm with heavy hail...I know it hurts...
Alexis
Oh no! I'm sure most of them will prop back up though?
maverick
I'm very sorry to see this happen to your plants, but indeed you can be happy there was no hail included. You always cheer people up with pictures of your gorgeous plants during the winter at the northern hemisphere. I hope they will recover soon! Kiwi Earl
Oh no! I'm sure most of them will prop back up though? Possibly, but the tubes are all heavily fractured. The phyllodia of the rugelii are well advanced now so will likely just prune the tubes back to the fracture and let them get on with it. Been growing outside for over a decade and it's a genuine situation of, oh well, swings-and-roundabouts, gotta-take-the-rough-with-the-smooth etc Edited February 1, 2011 by Kiwi Earl
