garyhove
MY plants have flowered for the last 2 years and the bulbs are big I was hoping to find some gemmea
ada
Gary, you might have to look right under the hibernacula. They bury themselves right down into the compost and a lot of the time you can't see them without moving some of the compost. ada
garyhove
hmm most of my other pings the gemmae is around the hibernacula, I have had a root around but cannot find any, I cannot tip the pot out as I sprinkled all the seed of my plant on the surface so I want them to germinate next year...oh well! Kevin Tonnerre
Gemmae appear at the axils of the leaves, if you cannot find them (and you dont want to tip the pot), just use a toothpick around the bulb and see if you can find something. Sometimes you will have more gemmae, depending on season. I find some feeding/fertilizing helpful for strong hibernaculum, so maybe it also helps for more gemmae. P. corsica usually produces many gemmae actually, almost like P. grandiflora.
