carnivoor
,am I the only one on these boards? I see LOTS of bumblebees and now and then a wasp or hoverflies. I admit that our "garden" is a concrete floor with potted plants but the bumblebees seem to enjoy them. We do have some plants with flat flowers the bees would enjoy but they somehow don't even show up to check if there are any. Maybe they decided our house is a no-fly zone. James O'Neill
Are you saying you haven't seen any honey bees? It's the same here, one or two on the clover on my lawn, but the propect for them is real bad, what with this nasssty litle mite. We ALL really need to do our best for them, and I've been trying to persuade everybody to keep bees :) The Bumblebees are doing much better around here though. I've seen some bees, but not in the numbers we see them in other years. They used to drop in on their way to or from our neighbour (lots of fruit trees) but this year they just aren't there. On a sidenote , they're predicting a plague of wasps here for later in the summer ,maybe I should tell my plants not to overeat because they will get a lot of snacks later in the year.
