dchasselblad74
Being new to the hobby is an exciting time. Finding as much info about the care of these highly specialised plants is as exciting as finding the different varieties out there one can purchase. Trying different methods of growing them, and asking as many people as you can possibly ask is part of the joy of finding the best possible method that would lead to the best possible results. There are plenty of places and internet companies where a novice like myself can help my growlist grow from the front door all the way to the backdoor,as long as one have both money and space to keep these plants. Theres nothing like opening a box containining the specimen I drooled over in front of my pc screen for hours if not days. Sounds familiar? I think everyone in this hobby has gone trough this, I know Im one of them. Now its even easier with more and more "Carnivorous Stores" popping up all over the web. With this excitement, sometimes caution is thrown out the window. One cant really know how reputable a store is until you actually place an order to see how this particular store would handle your personalized order. Things like availability, rarity, price, shipping will take effect, and then theres the fine print called terms and conditions. Imagine getting a beautiful fine specimen from the box. You stare at this healthy robust plant, and realized this is not the plant you wanted. Well in the terms and conditions, which I didnt read in the beginning, states the store has the right to make substitutions. This is just one example out of many cases that resulted in dissapointment.Another scenario would be that the store was not really a store, but sort of like a middle man. In other words, someone behind a pc puts up an impressive website with a selection unmatched by any other store, and takes in orders and this person in turn places an order from an actual reputable store. Now the ordered plants gets to this middle man, and reboxes the box, slaps a higher price and places this already stressed plant on another journey, this time to the buyers house. On the receiving end, the buyer, you or me, get the plant and the plant slowly dies. What then? Normally you or I would send out an email or give a phonecall to the seller as to the condition of the purchased specimen, then you wait for a reply....nothing, not even an email or anything signifying the responsibility of the seller. You email again and again and finally you give up. Congratulations youve been a victim of a middleman. Sounds familiar? It is to me personally, cause this just happened to me....the company is Cpjungle..... So my friends, Be Careful out there........ MFS
This website has a ton of discussion on who are the reputable and dodgy dealers out there... but I see where you're coming from. Often we see a picture and it just grabs us... And especially when starting out you get bad PBA (plant buying addiction), plus you don't know sellers by reputation... mark.ca
I don't know many people that got bad experiences with CP Jungle. I personally give them a good review. I did hear about an other "Jungle" being bad lately but not this one. Just so you know, most of the nepenthes sellers/companies/nurseries/whatever you want to call them are middleman or most of their inventory is bought from places like BE, MT, Wistuba or EP. Nothing bad about that if you send out healty plants.

I understand where youre coming from, but in Cpjungles shipping info, they claim they will hold shipment when its too hot, but they sent me my order and I received it on a friday, which was the hottest day of that particular week. The temp outside was 96 degrees f, when I opened the box wthin a box, my Nep rajah seedlings were literally hot and dry...the plants were dying, I email them and no response. So in my case, I dont like Cpjungle...can you dig that...
Redflytrap
I would wait for a reply. I have done alot of business with Cp Jungle, (Michael Catalani) and I have never had a problem. He is very reliable, and has always responded to my emails. Are you sure you aren't talking about Black Jungle? Well if you are not, I don't know what to tell you. He is usually very obsessive about shipping. Not to mention, he is one of my favorite shippers. Very fast/well packed. I think if you wait for him to respond, he would be more than happy to help replace your lost plants. I am surprised that you had such ill-luck with Cp Jungle— they are usually a very reputable store. This is an unfortunate outcome, and I am sorry it befell you— I truly understand your chagrin. Hope it all works out for the best —Jack I understand where youre coming from, but in Cpjungles shipping info, they claim they will hold shipment when its too hot, but they sent me my order and I received it on a friday, which was the hottest day of that particular week. Hope it all works out for the best —Jack thanks for understanding..yes it is Cpjungle and not Blackjungle(poison frog store)the plants were nicely packed. It was in a box within a bigger box, and the plants were neatly bagged, but the paper towel wrapped around the roots was 15%-20% moist(to me, based on other shipments I received, its dry). When I held those bags, it was really warm(not good for a Highland Nep Rajah). And yes I sent an email and nothing, and another...nothing..I give up. I wish (Like lots of people) I had a good experience with them, but I didnt, facts are facts.....
mark.ca
Allow some time for him to answer. Don't get impatient. If you are polite and explain everything to him i bet he will replace this plant. Include some photos too.

Its has been past weeks now, If they didnt reply then when it was 3 days after I received my plants, why would they beleive me now? Theyll just try to say that Its past the time I shouldve contacted them.....And I was polite when I first tried contacting them....so I dont think I should try anymore...thanks for the encouragement though.... dchasselblad74
twigs
To those that have read bad things about Black Jungle, I just received an order from them this week. The plants were a good size for the price and were packaged very well. Everything was very healthy. I would certainly purchase from them again.
