Best soil for N. pervillei

Recommended Posts

I know that N. pervillei lives on rocks, where little sand and organic matter accumulate, in dry conditions. What kind of soil could I use for this species? I imagine that sphagnum-based mix doesn't work very well.

Personally I use a mixture of expanded clay pellets/crushed lava rock/perlite with german coarse peat for a very very well drained mix. Sphagnum does not fare well in the sort of conditions it appears to need. I should also mention that I have not grown it very long and that there certainly is some truth in the 'touchy clone' description (seed grown may be a whole other story). Hope this helps.
