aaron308
I've been looking for some bark to use for my Nepenthes and epiphytic Utricularia. I haven't been able to find any labelled as orchid bark, but I have found 2 that may be suitable. One is an Orchid potting mix, and the other is pine bark mulch. They are both listed on this page http://www.brunnings.com.au/mulches.html, and I was wondering whether they would be ok to use? Thanks. Sean Spence
The Brunnings orchid bark is OK but has alot of fine dusty material and small pieces. At Bunnings they sell Debco orchid media which is of much better quality.
SamInLondon
Have you looked at Ivens Orchids? Their stuff is pretty good.

aaron308
Thanks Sean, I think I'll try the Debco bark then. I orignally overlooked it because it said it was coarse and I thought I needed fine, but if it works for you then I'll definitely give it a go! Sean Spence
I mix it with perlite and sphagnum and use it for my Nepenthes, some Pinguicula and epiphytic Utricularia. If I could find coconut husk that wasn't laced with fertilizer I'd probably add some of that too. I think there are different grades of Debco bark. I go with the finest that they sell at Bunnings.
