GreenCurry
I bought these plants for £5 each at my local garden centre, I read that there is really only one kind of venus fly trap "Dionaea muscipula" but any ideas what this pitcher could be ? I read that so many garden centres labal most pitcher plants as "Nepenthes alata" and many times they are wrong. This Pitcher plant was labled "Nepenthes alata" and I just wont to make sure it was labled correctly, any idea ? ummm... Any idea how to upload picture... there isn't a option I can see ?!?! jimfoxy
Hello green foodstuff, go here for photo uploading instructions: http://www.cpukforum.com/forum/index.php?showforum=
Loakesy
Chances are, if it's labelled Nepenthes alata it's probably going to be N. x ventrata. Though having said that, the last plant I bought lebelled as alata turned out to be x hookeriana.

louisduddridge
I would like to know what that one is for certain too, because i got one just like it last week at my local garden centre. I just assumed it was N. x ventrata. Edited May 27, 2009 by louisduddridge

Phil Green
It's still too young to be 100%, but it does look to be a ventrata. It's not hookeriana and as Loakesy said, those are the 2 most likely.
