Does anyone know how to remove the staining??? It looks like my hands need a good wash and I have a wedding to attend in 9 weeks time. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!! If its penetrated that deep into your skin you may be stuck with it for a while, i've never noticed this staining myself. Maybe the VFT collectors no more about it, anyone? As a keen VFT keeper I always keep a tin of pink paint next to my VFTs for just such emergencies. After cutting of the leaf stalks I simply paint my fingers pink. I have even attended many weddings just after applying the paint and not a single person noticed. Have you tried that CLIT BANG stuff thats on TV? BANG AND THE STAIN IS GONE!! Gotta be worth a try. I consider my lesson learned!!! lol. I used to wear gloves, but now I make the VFTs wear them, after all Im doing them a favour. What paint do you use??? I really may need to try it. In fact, I have not seen a solution ever posted on CPUK - only ridicule! The only advice from me is to wear gloves next time, sorry. Perhaps in 9 weeks it should have mostly disappeared. Dianne Salter Posted May 22, 2009 Author Report Share Posted May 22, 2009 I also get blackened patches between thumb and forefinger when prising seeds out of a slightly too fresh seed pod. I tend to twist off or fold the flower stems to snap them so don't get sap on me fingers, Dianne prefers to peirce flower stems with her multi tool fingernails releasing sap. So. Is the sap reacting with the acidity of the skin or is the sap oxididising to air ?? Have to point out that there is over a 1000 vft being dealt with. Any idea's ? I always use scissors to cut off stalks though - maybe you should think about doing the same in future so it doesnt happen again....hope the staining wears off soon! But I doubt if it will be for long as the VFT's need tending to again...lol.
