The most seeds had a germiantion rate around 80%. I also putted those in TC where they also grow very good. Here some pictures: H. nutans H. pulchella"black" H. minor H. pulchella H. heterodoxa H. sp nova 1 H. sarracenioides H. heterodoxa Here one testube

LJ
I was just about to say the same thing - first time i've seen heli seedlings too. Its good to hear they aren't too difficult to grow from seed. Can you give us a little information on the conditions you provided for germination? It seems whatever you did worked well if you got an 80% success rate! Nepaholic
They are very easy growers. I have putted some seeds in Highland conditions and some seeds in my lowland setup for seed germnation. After just 8Days the first seeds germinate allready in the lowland setup. Temps are about 22C night and 27C day. I put the seeds who was in the highland setup in after a month without germination. As soon i moved them in they germinate :) Now they grow all very fast and it seems that they like it warm at this stage. I will move them in highland conditions when they have 2-3 pitchers Jens

philipotamus
I haven't seen any heliamphora seedlings around either, I hear they are hard to come by except if you have many heliamphora. Well done, I hope the plants prosper!

Phil Green
I've just sown some heli seeds myself so hoping they geminate as well as yours have....Heather Heather, make sure you keep the temps above 20C, probably better around 25C. And good luck with them, let us know how you get on.
LJ
Will do Phil - thanks for the advice. The temp generally stays over 20, maybe a few degress less at night but warmer in the day - actually just went to a check and its currently dead on 25 degrees so should be ok - just waiting (not so patiently!) for the first ones germinating Heather
Guest Andreas Eils
Congratulations from me as well, Jens. Are you still running your "CP caravan"? I think I shall get back to you if you intend to sell some of the seedlings in future. I am particularly curious what H. pulchella "black" will look like. Have you pollinated different clones of your Heliamphoras or have you collected seeds in the wild - imagining you have taken the afford to fly to the various Tepuis... Anyway, I always appreciate if there´ll be some more genetic variation in cultivation! Greetings, Andreas

LJ
Hi Jens - nice update pics I've had quite good germination with my seedlings too - I had 3 different types of heli seeds (many thanks to the kind member who dontated them to my collection ) and followed your instructions above for germination and 2 out of the 3 had great results, 1 set haven't germinated at all though. Very odd as all the pots are sat next to each other so have been given the exact same conditions! Heather
