numpty
Howdy. I wonder if anyone remembers a TV show - part of the Nature Watch series - that I saw way back in the early '80s. I found it so fascinating I immediately talked my parents into getting a VFT from the local Asda. It died, of course, as did the next three that I bought over the following couple of years, but the memory of the programme made a lasting impression and was laregly responsible for my getting back into CPs a couple of years ago. Anyway, as I remember it, the show featured an elderly gentleman and his CP collection somewhere in sunny England. I can't remember for sure, but he seemed like the kind of gent who would use phrases like "quite splendid" and so on. I remember a lot of Sarracenias. I also recall that he seemed a bit tipsy. Also - and I might well be getting this confused with another show, since it doesn't fit with what I just described - there was a segment where the gent was cruising a swampy river looking for specimens. Anyone else remember this? Who was the gent? And - reaching a bit here - anyone have the show on vid?
andyoliver
The only TV show I've seen with CPs was done by Sir David Attenborough. Not back in the 80's more like 00's.

numpty
Oh, so that was Adrian Slack? How splendid! Not how I pictured him at all, but it makes sense they'd use someone of his stature for such a programme. I'll keep my eye open for the book. Cheers!
