chimanta
Hello all “Karnivoren Die Welt der Fleischfressenden Pflanzen“ This is a fantastic new photo book about Carnivorous plants by Germanys well known author Thomas Carow. Thomas Carow is known in Europe for his former books and a film he made together with the German Television about CP’s. He also owns a CP nursery in Germany. It is mainly a photo book - but a good one at that! I personally think, this is the best book I have come across with pictures about carnivorous plants - awesome, fantastic and superb pictures! Out of thousands of his photos, he obviously shows the best ones, some 220 pictures of superb quality of over 120 species, including some fantastic shots of landscapes as well. It is a collection of more than 20 years of CP plant photography, showing them both, in their natural habitat all over the world and in cultivation as well. The size of the book is 23,5 x 28,4 cm. You can see all kind of CP-species, from huge and beautiful Nepenthes from Asia or the Seychelles, to Heliamphoras in their natural habitat in Venezuela, Droseras or Utricularias from Australia, Pinguiculas from Mexico growing on trees or on rocks, striking Sarracenias from the USA and Roridula and Droseras from Africa. But also animals, living together with or in carnivorous plants, on pictures which have never been seen before like this. Even though this book is written in German, it is still a must for lovers of these plants. Sit down, have a look into this book and be fascinated by the many fantastic photos of what these plants and nature has to offer! The book can be purchased for Euro 39.90 at amazon.de (here you could also watch some pages) : http://www.amazon.de/s/ref=nb_ss_w?__mk_de...p;x=20&y=18 or from Thomas Carow directely mainly if you want it with signature: http://www.falle.de/versandpreisliste.pdfhttp://www.falle.de/versandpreisliste.pdf Edited April 28, 2009 by chimanta
Fernando Rivadavia
Thomas is probably the best CP photographer there is and his book is well worth it even for those who don't speak German like me! :) Fernando Rivadavia
