Paulo Minatel
Hello Daniel, Really nice shots and flower! Congrats! I went to Diamantina with Nílber and Vitor last July and, finally, saw D. schwackei in habitat. Til now I was not able to post it where, at CPUK, but you can see the pics at PCsBR (the Brazilian forum): First Day - D. graminifolia, D. schwackei, D. tentaculata and others http://www.forum.clickgratis.com.br/planta...vor/t-3796.html Second Day, when we had the luck to find a single opened flower, that is really darker http://www.forum.clickgratis.com.br/planta...vor/t-4148.html About the rare D. sp. "Cipó", we was also very lucky to find 3 of the 4 known populations of it in the same trip, take a look: Serra do Cipó - first day (my pics are in page 3) - D. sp. "Cipó" (at last!) and D. sp. "Shibata" http://www.forum.clickgratis.com.br/planta...p;postorder=asc Serra do Cipó - second day (many species and two new populations of D. sp. "Shibata") http://www.forum.clickgratis.com.br/planta...vor/t-3737.html Serra do Cipó - third day (the third population of D. sp. "Cipó", D. chrysolepis and D. camporupestris occurring side by side with no intermediates, the same for D. tentaculata and D. tomentosa, a new population of D. sp. "Shibata" and the Brazilian pygmy Drosera!) http://www.forum.clickgratis.com.br/planta...vor/t-3757.html English version soon! ;-) All the Best,
Paulo Minatel
Ahn, forgot! Unfortunately, D. sp. "Cipó" still not in cultivation. :-( I hope we can change it soon.
Daniel O.
Many thanks Paulo. Thanks also very much for the links about your field trips with Vitor and Nilber, really wonderful pictures. Fore sure you have had a lot of fun there, to see so many species must be really great. To see how they are growing in nature always is very interesting. The only bad thing is that i don´t understand the language , fore sure the comments are also very interesting. I really like the very rare pictures of D. tentaculata, D. "Shibata" and D. sp. "Cipó", very beautiful species. Is D. sp. "Cipó" flowering later in the year, because i have not seen any flower pictures? Can´t expect untill all of them are also in Europe in cultivation. Unfortunately, D. sp. "Cipó" still not in cultivation. :-(I hope we can change it soon. Good to hear this, good luck. Best regards, Dani Edited December 4, 2008 by Daniel O. Paulo Minatel
Hello Daniel, Thanks! You are right, it was not the flowering season of D. sp. "Cipó". They produce flowers from December to February (the high of wet season here in SE Brazil). D. sp. "Shibata" is the opposite, it blooms from July to November, the high of the dry season.
