Kiwi Earl
Some quick Spring photos from today of some my Sarracenia collection. Have had to add support due to the strong winds of the Equinox we get here in Auckland each Spring - rather unsightly. But that's outdoor growing for you - gotta take the rough with the smooth. Last shot is a S.rubra ssp wherryi from Deer Park, AL

Kiwi Earl
wow! Earl, your plants are wonderful!I wish I had plants that look like that! fantastic! how many growingpoints are there in pot? The plants are all individuals. The number of growth points on a rhizome is usually as many as can be squeezed in due to my inherent laziness these days. Not best practise, but sometimes as many as 30 can be got from a division of some of the species (like alata) that have been left in the large pots for 3 or 4 years. Glad you like them Edited October 31, 2008 by Kiwi Earl

Kiwi Earl
Great plants, Earl. Do you ever have aphid or scale problems in NZ? Both. A good Acephate based systemic deals with both.

Hail? YES! A small risk during Spring here. When it happens you just have to stand back and take it.... Birds? No, no problem at all.
