Phil Green
Some nice shots Neil. Looks like Exotica had some nice plants. Shame I don't have room for their's - they're just far too big !! It's about time they started producing some nice SMALL hybrids. That pic of Wistuba stall just about say's it all - plants so soft they have to stay in sealed plastic bags.
Sean Spence
That pic of Wistuba stall just about say's it all - plants so soft they have to stay in sealed plastic bags. In this case there is a reason for that. Due to the Australian Quarantine laws, the plants had to be imported as flasks and were only deflasked very recently- it's not like he could bring them in already potted and semi-hardened up. I believe the prices were reflective of that. We are not in a position to complain down here. Many of the species that he offers are otherwise unobtainable. Christian
Hi, thanks for the pictures. I hope some more will follow soon! How i wish i could be there too..... Phill, Andreas Wistuba regularly sells plants at our meetings in germany. He always brings potted plants, that definitely need not to be in plastic bags. The plants are not even covered. As i feel, this is not the right place to discuss about this, i will leave it at the following picture. I must admitt, that i have never ordered plants from him and so i cannot say anything about the quality of the plants he sends out, but the plants he brings to our meeting al look well established. Neil Cornish
Yes it was a great day out in an amazing settling with great weather. Sean, I only went down to Sydney for the day as I thought once I'd added hotel costs etc it would have been expensive and I only really wanted to see the plants on offer and meet a few new CP addicts. Phil, the plants offered by Andreas were small but as Sean said straight out out of TC. From what I heard some of his plants were even refused by customs and sent back to Germany so we were lucky to see any. The prices were good with none more than about 20 quid and from what I saw most buyers got more than one plant for that price. There was no shortage of buyers and some plants sold out in about an hour! I missed out on buying any myself (but that's a long story) but reflecting back I feel like I might have struggled keeping them alive so I'm not too dissapointed.
