Phil Green 73
Congratulations to those who correctly sexed my inermis x singalana as female I've now matched her up with 2 partners Firstly with talangensis - Cheers Dave. Although still too early to be certain, it does look as though the pollinated flowers are swelling and getting longer. Secondly with my own ventricosa x inermis - from you know who. Pic's of both mine follow. inermis x singalana - Female. Please excuse the white cotton, that's so I know which is talangensis. ventricosa x inermis - Male. Note that the anthers on left and right are pale yellow as the pollen isn't ripe. While on the flower in the centre the pollen has rippened and is now dark 'eggy' yellow. Now the wait for ripe seed begins

LJ 0
Hi Phil Thanks for posting, its interesting to see the differences between the male and female flowers....especially since it will be a good few years until my plants get big enough and I get to see them myself!! Sounds like you'll have some good crosses with those seeds too! Heather
