LJ
Hi Evert There were a few tips about germinating Roridula in one of my earlier posts: http://www.cpukforum.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=25443 I thought I'd try it au natural first but only one has germinated so I'll definitely be trying those techniques out next time! mono
Hi there, ok I have it easier as I live in SA so have good conditions to grow them in. I germinate my Roridula quite successfully. Use 50%peat: 50%river sand sowing mix. Smoke treatment (I use a smoking tent, but then I have plenty other stuff to smoke too) The smoke disks work well. Keep moist, but not wet. Roridula I treat more like a shrub than a CP. They don't seem to like lots of water.
yves
Hello Fresh seeds germinate without any treatment. I don't have any problems with fresh seeds sown in September in a greenhouse, swiss climate . Germination occurs in one month for R. gorgonias and a bit more for R. dentata. R. gorgonias R. dentata a bit older Yves
LJ
A lot of happy looking roridula there Yves I've only tried gorgonia from seeds, some germinated within few weeks and others in the same pot some months later, I didnt treat the seeds. Germinating them is certainly easier than keeping them alive (atleast for me anyway), I'm finding it to be one of the more difficult plants that I grow and have lost several seedlings........
