I can't see any abnormality. If you're talking about the pale patches, the pitchers tend to turn pale where the light is blocked by other pitchers.

Perhaps it's the variety of pitcher / leaf growth and function. Obviously, he has the normal carnivorous leaves, as well as the non-carnivorous / winter leaves. There is also the cup shaped pitcher.
