Thats all I know Ive had it for ages and only just decided to find out what it is, its gone darker in the sun any help? jimothy Posted September 25, 2007 Report Share Posted September 25, 2007 (edited) It's mostly (if not entirely) Sarracenia purpurea It could well be a intraspecific hybrid (ie. a hybrid between two or more subspecies/varieties of S. purpurea) or may be a hybrid between purpurea and another sarracenia species.... my money's on the first option, as there's no obvious features of other sarracenia, however, you're unlikely to ever know for sure. Absolutely - I'd much rather have a load of attractive common plants (or those plants that the "stamp-collector" types look down on because their parentage is unknown) than a load of unattractive or boring-looking "rare" plants.
