Loakesy
I was going to start a thread asking how-on-earth you go about pollenating Ibicella. Or indeed whether they are self fertile! I've had a few attempts without success, and then gave up! The flowers I tried to pollenate died and fell off yonks ago! But then, yesterday, I discovered these! They're definately not from a flower I interfered with, but I'm still rather proud of myself!
Guest Sheila
You haven't got long now before the end of the year for Ibicella so they may not actually get enough time to mature. The plant will die after the first frost and the pods will need to be harvested, so you have about 4 - 6 weeks left. They usually take around 3 months minimum to mature. Maybe with the help of heat and lights you would be able to keep the plant going a few weeks longer, but they are big plants and will need a lot of space indoors. Loakesy
Thanks Sheila! I might be able to bring it indoors, this one's only very small - about 10" tall!
