ifurita
Hi everyone, Just a quick question on the Temperature requirements/tolerance of both Roridula species, especially R. dentata. I know the other species prefers it somewhat cooler, but I'd like to ask if any R. dentata growers know how heat tolerant the plant is. The reason being that I'd like to know if it is possible to grow the plant outdoors in my country. I live in the Tropics, where the daytime temps average in the 30C++ range, while night temps are around 24-27C. Can the plant take that kind of heat or are cool(sub 20C) nights a must? Thanks for the help!!
Marcel B.
Hey, I grow them in the summer outside and there are often Temperature over 30°C and the ygrow very good and most the temperaturs are higher than 20° at night.Well i think R.dentata tolerant higher temperatures because it occurs more upcountry. But i think you will have some problems with the high humitidy in the tropics... sorry for my bad english Greets marcel
ifurita
Hi Marcel! Thanks for the info! I think it shouldn't be a problem then, because one side of my area is extremely windy and some CPs already give me problems due to the lack of humidity, so I grow only the non-sensitive CPs there. This is worth a shot, me thinks. BTW, your english is understandable, so its quite okay. :) Thanks again! WWW
