taywf1234
Are Aroids lime hating plants?
Guest Aidan
No, and there is some evidence to say that adding lime is beneficial to at least some aroids. You may find this site useful: http://www.aroid.org/
taywf1234
The reason i was wondering is that my dad bought some multi-purpose compost for general stuff in the garden, but it says it isn't suitable for use with lime hating plants. So it would be ok to add it to a mix for my A. konjac?
Guest Aidan
Yes.
greenBen
Should probably butt in here and add that Arisaemas are happier in acid soil, as are Arisarum (including the tender species), some Arums and Pinellia. To my knowledge other aroids aren't too fussed so long as they aren't subjected to extremely limey conditions. greenBen
