scottleroc
I am taking a lot of photos so I thought I would select some of the best and keep a diary on this thread if any one is interested then great My first pic is a new plant I got today. It has been brought up outside and is huge. Sarracenia Purpurea 'venosa' x purpurea 'purpurea' Hetrophylla close up. Don't forget these are still last years leaves, having made it through the winter my happy happy cape sundew :) Sarracenia Hybrid Flava x Leucophylla The Ping - Pinguicula grandiflora - Before the slug got it Sarracenia Purpurea - I think but I am not sure. It has been repotted recently so it still needs time to restablish growth. If anyone can tell me what it is that would be helpful My cobra lilly is ready to pop My little Nepenthes x Ventrata (Alata)

Yes the Pitchers are about a foot or more high already theres about 4 blades, not open yet. Thank you Chug, also. There are a few other plants I haven't posted yet. I will do it when I get home. I thought it was something you'd found in your garden (a 'tick' - wish I'd got Stag Beetles in mine). I wasn't implying it was a tick in the arachnid sense.... vic brown
You shouldn't assume that non-birders know what you mean by a 'tick' Jonathan. It's what we bird watchers do on checklists of birds once the have seen a particular species - put a little tick by its name. :) Vic
Alexis
Great photos. You don't see many intergrade purpureas around either. By the way, just for your information, the correct way to write it would be Sarracenia purpurea ssp. venosa x purpurea ssp. purpurea forma. heterophylla. Does anyone know if you put an 'x' or not if the plant is an intra-species hybrid? I tend not to bother.

Alexis - I would still use the 'x' for clarity, even with intraspecific crosses if they are of defined types or clones.
scottleroc
I have posted a couple more pics on this thread but I am not sure what the last plant really is. Anybody got any ideas?
Guest pilot162
i'll guess at a s. psitticina x alata...I'm sure the pietropaulos would have a daughter named after it ;) any advance? lol Leigh
Alexis
You can just about gather it's got psittacina somewhere in it, but until it produces sturdy summer pitchers, there's no way of knowing.
