Drosera ascendens! ;)

Except Antoine Saint-Hilaire and Fernando, I doubt that many people have already seen the "real" D. villosa in the wild (or even collected seed of it!)

Most (All?) plants in cultivation labelled as "D. villosa" are indeed D. ascendens, unless they had been collected from the mountain range of Serra da Ibitipoca (from which St-Hilaire collected the type specimens of 2 CPs, i.e. D. villosa and Genlisea violacea).

All the best,

Andreas

Hello everyone,

Andreas is correct. Unless your plants are labelled D.villosa "Serra de Ibitipoca", you probably have D.ascendens. Belinda, your plant looks like the real thing! Look at the long narrow petioles hairy on both sides...

Best Wishes,

Fernando Rivadavia
