Binataboy
Don't wory Sean, you can borrow mine, but you do have to return it!! I think I only own two books, Utricularia- A taxonomic monograph and The Savage Garden... I do however have access to a number of other book like Allen Lowries 3 books. I still find the best recource is other people, such as on forums like this and my local CP society!! Imagine were we would all be without this wonderous internet. I know my collection would be a lot smaller and worse off without the help of other peolpe. George

Sean Spence
I noticed that the highest current bidder is Triffid Park. If that is the same Triffid Park nursery here in Melbourne, Australia you will be sure to see the same book for resale at around 500 pounds!! in a few weeks. Come on somebody, beat them to it. I would put in an bid myself but I already have a copy. Sean.
David Ahrens
Sean, That is the same Triffid Park as in Melbourne. I bump into Colin and Tina occasionally, around the World, at CP meetings. There are a few modern reprints (2002) mentioned above of Darwin's book, is the reprint any good ? I have a first edition of this book, I treated myself to a bit of luxury a few years ago.
janmyszkier
Hi all! All I have is the Polish book about CP: "Rosliny miesozerne zwane tez owadozernymi" (i didn't used polish signs) - B.Sudnik-Wójcikowska, Z. Podbielkowski It's nice looking book with good photos, general cultivation info and hard-cover. It's also have description of some species of cp, history of cp who found it, etc. But if you don't know Polish languge you could only look at the photos :)
Ellis
Some impressive lists people! All I have is D'Amato's Savage Garden but don't feel I need any more in regard to growing tips further than that and this forum's experts! I would like to get another though just for the sheer love of these plants! Which are considered best interms of comprehensibility, quality of pictures, accuracy, modernity and readabilty? Which do people think are the top 3? Thanks!
janmyszkier
Allen Lowrie Vol.1 Allen Lowrie Vol.2 Allen Lowrie Vol.3 :D:D:D:D Don't take it serious I don't even seens those books :]
alexa
Lowrie 's book are very good but they're more field guides than anything else. It depends if you are into a particular genus or want something that covers general CP cultivation. In this case either of Slacks book would be good, but the Savage Garden is the best book around at the moment by far. Some of the childrens book can also be good. Cynthia Overbeck may be an old title but the photo's are excellent. Regards Alex.

Phyrex
It seems like almost everyone has The Savage Garden - Perter D'Amato and Carnivorous Plants - Adrian Slack. I assume these are the best (standard) books about CP? I'm pretty novice at the art of CP at the moment so I want to buy a good book, however just one book for now. So which one should I choose? Any description about both these books?
