Prozac
My VTF's are looking a bit rubbish, the traps are going orange then black, they are outside so i was wondering if its starting to go dormant?
Guest Aidan
Growth will certainly be slowing now.

kakozord
I have most of my VFT's outdoors. They still look good but growth has slowed drastically and it's only a matter of weeks until dormancy time. Cheers Kyle
Loakesy
Mine are all still nice and green and trapping like good'uns. I can't say there's been a huge amount of growth recently tho'!
Guest Sheila
It could be dormancy starting but it could also be signs of insect attack. Usually just the older traps blacken and die off at this time of the year, the centre growth stays looking reasonable healthy. If they are all looking really bad it can't do any harm to examine them thoroughly. If any traps are distorted or twisted you could have aphids and it would be wise to check very closely to see if you have any spider mites, vfts do seem prone to them. vic brown
You'll need a lot of Provado to get rid of your dog - something more specifically manufactured to control mammals, such as Wafarin would be more effective! Guest Sheila
Can't say I've ever had the problem of dogs eating my plants. Caterpillars, aphids and slugs I can deal with, but dogs need something a bit more specialised. Rentokill might be able to provide you with a humane trap for it and you can release it into a neighbours garden to eat their plants instead, it works with slugs.
