Guest il brettio
Hello, during the winter period I must in the open air grow my Roridula gorgonias or to the closed one? In my zone the temperatures vary from -3° to 10°. Cheers
Nigel H-C
Hi There, I would grow it under cover. Mine have been down to 5 celcius and been fine, but I suspect a frost may damage/kill them. If you have Pameridea bugs on the plants I wouldn't go below 5 celcius either. Hope this helps Nigel H-C
gardenofeden
they do not like high humidity in winter, so make sure they are well ventilated
Guest il brettio
Thanks I had thought to grow it in cold greenhouse, with drosera and butterworts, but there is too much humidity I will perhaps grow it in a fauna-box Best regards
Alexander Nijman
Hi all, I have seen Roridula gorgonia in the wild in the Fenkloof near Hermanus, S.A. It grows on a seepage place in full sun and very moist with some Drosera species. The area has a mediterranean climate with warm to hot dry summers and winterrain. If you live in the part of Italy with a mediterranean climate and close to the coast you can try to grow it outdoors. If you can grow tender plants like Aloes outdoors Roridula should be fine. And if you get only a light freese now and then during the night it should be fine.
