V.J.Treasure
OK let´s go on. Here are some pics of a swamp next to the 2.cascade. Plants were growing in very wet humus together with grasses here and some also in strong shadow. Most of them don´t seem to build a flower for the whole year because of light problems. Going on with my trip I passed many plants grwong next to the track aswell in short grasses: Every more passed metre the flowers became paler. Other than in lower areas, where the dry summer forces P.corsica to settle in very wet areas with enough water the whole year through which is only provided by the cascades, the plants are able to grow anywhere in the highland swamps as they stay always wet enough. So the plants are no longer forced to stay in owercrowded colonies but can expand to real seas of P.corsica (see later). Here some pictures of the first real highland "settlements": I´ve really to admit that I love the flowers and rossettes of the plants from this areas. As you can see on the last pictures they get even some prey in this cold climate (the last ones were growing near snowfields). Cheers, Valentin

AdamH
Hi Valentin, Just to say that all your threads with this species in habitat have wonderful photos - beautiful plants in a wonderful landscape - thank you for posting them. Now another species (esp the P.corsica f pallida, but even the "normal" form) to add to my wishlist! PS: What's that yellow flower growing with them? Violas? Looks a bit like a Viola to me, maybe e.g. V.lutea?
