EntwinedScylla
This is me. Unfortunately it's an older photo. I should really allow myself to be photographed once in a while.

TheCarnifreak
Hi Ries! Nice pic, were is it taken? Spanish or Portugese coast when you were Drosophyllum hunting? Nope, this pic is shot this winter on the island called Capri, near Napels. It's a beautiful place over there! Also visited Napels city, Mount Vesuvius and Pompei. In Pompei you can really taste the roman life...very impressive!

jimfoxy
Well, in order to add some normality to this posting, this is me a few years ago. I've had my toe nails cut since then.

jimfoxy
Where the ice sheet comes off the mainland to form the Brunt Ice Shelf at a place known as the Hinge Zone, Antarctica. A bit too cold for any plants there (plus no rock/land for about 300 miles in any direction - just ice and snow!).

Guest Sheila
Many thousands. The venom, after the initial pain, no longer has any effect on me. but isn't it correct that if you get stung too many times you can still get an allergic reaction from a build up of the toxins and suffer Anaphylactic(sp?) shock? Tim
It seems to go one way or the other. Either you're like me, who can get stung 30 times on the arm and not feel anything the next morning, or you're in the hospital after one sting. As to the reasons, they're both controversial and beyond this landscaper! The worst I've had recently was on the nipple, but when I went home and sought sympathy my wife just laughed, since she breast fed all of our seven kids. She said "now you know"!!
