chrisbrown1978
hi have got 2 utricularia 1 sandersonii and 1 calycifida when is the best time to repot these
Richard
I would re-pot them in late spring/early summer when they are in active growth. Re-potting at this time of year causes most plants stress.
vic brown
Not when you are doing 'drink drugs or party'ing Vic
Guest tim.
I have never had any problem repotting utrics at any time of the year. Of course mine grow indoors and don't have any particular seasonal stress to endure.
adnedarn
Not only do I agree with Tim... But, I transplant anything when I want to or when it is necessary regardless of the time of year. (With exceptions to very picky plants. Like Byblis which as far as I know don't like their roots disturbed at all) Just make it quick, and don't mess with the roots too much. I've never hurt a plant because of transplanting it. Except that time I dropped the pot and it landed on the Drosera and broke the growth point. But then again, I just gathered up all the parts and made more plants with the roots and leafs... JanW
I do it the same way like adnedarn. Without that I never tried cuttings of so many plants which lost a leaf here and there during repotting... ;) Not to mess around with the roots is a good idea but those Utris are almost indestructible. Guest tim.
I agree with adnedarn, but only to I repot utrics whenever, but I disturb then greatly by trying to scrub off as much of the old soil and moss as I can.
