Dom
Hi All, do you've already seen a Dionaea with a "Triangular Trap" ? Here's some links to the pictures : http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/8082/triangulartrap2ox.jpg http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/7859/tr...lartrap21pl.jpg Cheers Dom
EntwinedScylla
It looks like a cup trap that tried to go double, and stopped. Try looking at http://www.humboldt.edu/~rrz7001/Dionaea.html under "strange growth". Being a lover of strange growth in plants and snails (shell collecting is another hobby), I just have to say it's quite awsome!
Nepenthes Nut
Does the trap still work?
Guest Aidan
Malformed traps are surprisingly common and a good number are posted to the forum each year. Here are a couple of mine on the same plant from last summer: Somewhat remarkably, the traps do often appear to function despite the malformation. A dead fly can just be seen in the trap in the second image.
Guest Dave2150
I always look forward to spotting the deformed traps of the year! Not long to wait now :)
