Geoff
Something which came out of crossing Low Giant and Akai Ryu. Out of 100 seed only one of these. In the photos there is more than one plant in the pot. These traps are fairly new in the season and are just beginning to colour up. All traps have the fleck. Guest Aidan
Now that's interesting! A true variegated form perhaps? Add me to the list for when you start to export...
Geoff
I was thinking along those lines as well Aiden. I wasn't too happy with the pics so I have messed around with it a bit for a better picture. Hope this works. Geoff

Graham
Hi Geoff Congratulations on coming up with a new vft sport that is genuinely attractive. I think i might be tempted to give it a larger pot of its own.
Geoff
Thanks Graham. I will definately do that and while doing it take off one leaf for propagation (safety in numbers). I think this is going to be a slow proccess but worth the effort. Geoff
Jules
Hi Geoff, Great looking vft, thanks for sharing! :-) Jules
nicodemus_27
Can you do polka dots? Seriously though, this VFT could take off! Think of a name...
Guest Aidan
I think Geoff already has a name. Take a look at the file names.
Geoff
Thanks Jules, Nicodemus_27. I am deliberately not trying to get excited about it. Well not until I double the numbers from 1 to 2. Then I might get excited a little bit. As for a name, I am thinking of something totally mundane like "patches". I am open to suggestions however. Geoff
And I thought it was a secret Aidan.
Jonathan
And I thought it was a secret Aidan. Nice plant Geoff - think you need to get multiplying! Must be stressful watching over a single plant
Julio Alberto
It looks very interesting. I hope you get lots of clones of that plant. Good luck! and Congratulations!

Chloroplastik
Nice one. If it's stable it deserves a cultivar registration. A name : Dionaea muscipula Gorbatchev ;) Bye
Geoff
Thanks everyone, Jonathan - Yes it has been a bit stressful. I feel a bit better now that I have taken a back bulb cutting and have re potted it today Joel, Trev and Kera - your name is nearly there. Chloroplastik - LMAO, very good, I see the resemblance. I have thought of another one, how about -"Bleeding Heart". Geoff
Trev
Bleeding Heart - Hmm, Gorbatchev or Gorby or maybe Birth Mark, I would have said Tiedye but I already named a form that : http://xs48.xs.to/pics/05392/tiedyesm.JPG dont know if that one is stable yet. Trev.
Geoff
Just a quick update. I took a back-bulb division and both plants sulked for quite awhile. However everything has turned out very well. The back-bulb has produced 3 plants and the main plant plant has also produced 2 more. I was afraid that the variegation wasn't going to be stable with the plant stress but all plants are showing the variegation. With winter fast approaching I will leave them until spring before dividing them. Hopefully the main plant will flower this season. Ian Salter
Very nice, I think you'd better start studying home tissue culture as there is only one plant and a 1000 people who want one
