vic brown
There are loads of aquatic Utrics, many are quite tricky in cultivation requiring things like; lots of space, good water conditions (free from algae) and the right climate (some are tropical and need to be warm all year, others need a cold dormancy). Without doubt, the easiest species is U. gibba. This species thrives in small volumes of water, is quite tolerant of algae and temperatures. It thrives and flowers in the shallow water trays that I keep my other terrestrial Utrics in. See this article by Barry Rice for some detailed information. http://www.sarracenia.com/pubs/focus5.html Vic
efbiosis
Also, there is a great website that shows aquatic and terrestial utrics in habit and bloom. Check it out at: http://www.plantarara.com/carnivoren_galer...utricularia.htm and http://www.humboldt.edu/~rrz7001/Utricularia.html The plantara wesite is pretty straightfoward (even if your german is rusty).
