Hi

We decided to investigate an area near Inga waterfalls today -

"Bedford creek fire trail"

Im slightly embarrassed posting these shots given dans kimberly pics - but anyhow here they are .

The first peltata we came across on a sandbank track side

Not far down the track i found a lone pygmae --note the flower stalks

DSCF2238.JPG

A pic to show how abundant cps are in my area - this picture was just a small portion of the actual colony (would have been four times the picture size).

this is typical of most areas .

DSCF2284.JPG

A pic of a plain old spatulata - but i loved the colour - similar to "tamlin"

(in my opinion anyhow)

DSCF2283.JPG

Near some rock cliffs we came across a small seep

This illustrates my point on peltata and the lack of species info or acknowlegdement of variants .

Note these pics where taken about 12inckes from each other - same conditions .

green type

red type

and previous form on sandbank

and finally some of the local flora which were very abundant

They make the bush in this area look like a botanical garden

some Sydney Waratah

a yellower form

Love the Telopea. Never seen one in flower in the wild yet.

You should start seeing some Utricularia from here on in. Looking forward to seeing what variation you find in those.

Thanks Sean

I was surprised by the number of Telopia in this area .Almost all were in flower . The bush with groups of these in flower looks truly amazing .

What a beautiful country you and i live in.

Thanks again Belinda for the pics! They're great, so no need to apologize. ;) I always enjoy pics of wild CPs, even when they're not so good (which is not the case!).

Thanks, Fernando Rivadavia
