Christian
Hi, Yesterday i had the chance to see some Utricularia in habitat near Frankfurt/Main. I think the plants ar Utricularia vulgaris, but i am absolutely not sure. Saddly, the pictures are not too good to identify them. Any hints are much appreciated. Here are some pictures: More pictures can be found here: http://www.utricularia.net/sonstiges/stand..._FFM/index.html If it is of any interested, the PH value of the water is between 6,5 and 7. Martin Hingst
Nice find! It's interesting to see them growing side by side with so many water lilies. Water lilies need quite much nutrients, and those in the pond seem to thrive, so the water will be more or less rich in nutrients. But this obviously does not harm the utricularia. I have read somewhere that vulgaris is quite nutrient-tolerant, so it might be vulgaris then (don't know about australis' tolerance against nutrients though).
