Altair
After 2 years my U. purpurea has finally flowered I grow it in a big container (80 x 55 x 35h cm) accompanied by marsh plants, decomposed phragmites leaves and peat at the bottom and rain water. Direct sunlight in the morning and a CO2 reactor.

Rob-Rah
That's nice. Can you say the size of that flower? Cheers.
AdamH
Hi Altair, That's a great photo of a beautiful flower - the patterning on the palate almost reminds me of the pattern on a Miltonia/Miltonopsis ("Pansy Orchid").
Altair
Thanks! The flower is 2 cm. The flower stalk is up to 5 cm long but it depends on water level. There are only 2 flowers in the first stalk, I'll check the others.
