Rooting Hormone on leaf cuttings

Do you use rooting hormone to treat your VFT leaf cuttings before placing them on soil?

A book I have read made reference to using rootone, which is a powdery rooting hormone, on the bottom surface of VFT leaf cuttings just before placing them on the surface of the planting medium. I've never done this with my VFT cuttings and still have had good success with them. Does anybody use any rooting hormones for their VFT cuttings? I realize they aren't necessary so don't bother telling me that. I just want to know who here does use them anyways and what kind of success they have with them. :D

I have tried several different makes of rooting hormone over the years on all sorts of plants and my experience has been entirely negative.

Whenever I have applied a hormone I have invariably lost more cuttings to rot when compared to untreated cuttings.

I now don't go near the stuff for any type of plant.

all of my trials with hormone powder have failed too..i have put this same question to other growers on this forum and most said dont bother with the powder and that it is alkaline and chalky which makes it useless to vft..

That's exactly what it was in fact. :) If you are going to use any sort of rooting hormone, i'd suggest finding a liquid form at any rate.
