Somehow seem to have lost the label and record for this Ping, can anybody help me with an ID please. The colour of the flower is slightly deeper than it appears in the photos. Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi everyone, I bought two weeks ago a Ping Red Light from Gert (araflora) during the italian CP meeting. Now I'm keeping it with pitcher plants but it's becaming quite cold and I still do not know if it can stay outside during winter or if I should keep it "inside" with cephalotus and drosera regia. Thank you

After being stuck in dormant mode for 18 months I repotted this P. gypsicola in January into a mineral mix with lime and gypsum, it came to life in late Spring and now it's flowered for the first time.

In mid of August we made a trip to the Maggia valley close to Ascona. As we could not decide where to stop, we drove to the end of the valley and arrived at an artificial lake at about 1500m a.s.l..There we found the road continuing a lot further. After some more driving we arrived at a beautiful mountain lake at 2050 m a.s.l.. Some divers there told us, that this small lake is up to 40 m deep. On the south facing shore, we found some Pinguicula growing between the grass. As I am not an Pinguicula expert, I would be happy if someone could ID them. Beside the Pinguicula there were a lot of other non carnivorous plants, which attracted our attention. And a young frog A few meters off the lake we found some Pinguicula, which were still in flower. It seems that they were flooded and cooled by a small mountain brook, which was larger before. On the way down again we found a wonderful population of Drosera rotundifolia and Pinguicula growing beside a small waterfall. The wall, on which the plants were growing, was on one side of the small street. I spotted them by just driving by due to the intense red and light green colors of the plants. More pictures of this trip can be found on my webpage michaelscarnivores.com.

Hi everybody, I posted the question below in the ping section....perhaps should have tried here first. Thanks.... Hi, does anybody growing Mexican pings in the UK have succulent leaves on their plants yet? Mine still only have their carnivorous leaves. I've got them in my greenhouse in a propogator with temperatures down to about 10C over night. I put a cover over them at night to block the light from T5 lights on my other plants so they're only getting about 8 hours of daylight now. I haven't watered them for a while but the compost is still fairly moist. What are the triggers for dormancy/growing succulent leaves? Temperature? Light? Is there anything I can do to encourage dormancy. Thanks in advance, any advice is appreciated.
