Hi, im currently growing a sundew. Had it since June and was flourishing and healthy. Moved indoors in November and dew faded and now completely dry. Hasn’t ate since moved indoors either but still green. I have it next to a humidifier and under a grow light because keep hearing no dew is lack of humidity. Is there a way to get my sundew healthy again? I water it the same, twice a day and have it under the grow light for 8-10 hours a day. Any recommendations for something else? Should I put it in under a cover? Thanks in advance all! Joey

No don't worry this isn't a 'my plant has no dew' question. Is the dew of a Drosera purely exuded from the plant? I've been thinking about this for some time and in my hunting I have yet to find a definitive answer. I know some of the composition of the dew and it is mostly water and the plant has a ready supply of that. Is it all from the glands of the plant or is the dew hygroscopic? I know there are many polysaccharides that are hydroscopic and the dew does contain them but there is a cocktail of other things in there so I'm not sure how that would affect water uptake from the air. Any ideas?

From the album: CPs
You have no idea how happy I am to see this... This is as far as I have ever got with Drosera capensis it even has its first little drops of dew on it. I know others can get this to grow like a weed but for me seeing this when I peeked through a lens was as much a thrill as seeing Amorphophallus titanum in bloom at Kew. I will now be driving friends and family mad by making them squint at it and telling them at length how great it is.
