  1. Hi, Continuing with the chronicle of my trip through the southeast of the USA, second location was Baldwin co. in Alabama, to pay a visit to the famous Splinter Hill Bog. It was the beginning of April and the bog although lacking the exuberance of summer or autumn, had the discreet charm of the first spring pitchers of which some of us are devoted, and of course flowers. Recent controlled burn. Thanks to some fellow local aficionados, we were able to discover a meadow between long leaf pines, where controlled burning had not taken place. Here leuco pitchers were bigger. Thank you very much! Gustavo

  3. Hi Chris, It rains quite a lot over here in Galicia (NW Spain), so water trays are easilly keep full until may naturally. Although i have a backup dripping watering system with tap water (It is safe here) working once or twice a day depending on the season. Peat is available here in some garden centers. I haven't used milled pine bark yet, is not easy to find It here. Cheers Gustavo

  5. Thanks to everyone. Camera is a compact Sony DSC-Hx9v. I only played with the different preset settings, adjusting light levels.
  6. Thank you everyone. I didn't find utrics in the bog though. In fact the water that you can see in the pictures is a stream.
