Here is their website:http://www.petflytrap.com/contact.html
While you're there get a Ventricosa 'k', those are very rare and they have 2- 3. But save one for me I'm saving up for it

My recommendation isn't a location but a seller.
Petfly trap has a new greenhouse and they have really nice plants. Before you go you have to send them an email to make sure they can be there.
They are really nice and friendly!
I visit them about once or twice a year. Great fun!

You can buy one here: http://shop.carnivoria.eu/intermediate-highland
Scroll down to the bottom.
I have never ordered from them but I watched a few unboxings and the plants seemed to be in pristine condition.
Since you live in the US, you might have to get permits which are expensive, so if you are ordering from here make it a large order so the permit is worth your money.
If you don't want to buy from the Europe, which I totally understand, contact a large seller, like California Carnivores, and just ask. I'm sure they have a small plant somewhere in their huge greenhouse
Some other places to ask are Petflytrap, Sarracenia Northwest, and Predatory Plants.
Hope this helps!

Wow!
That is a beautiful plant! Where did you get it?
What conditions does it need?
I just love the color!
Thank you for sharing.

Bicalcarata wont do well in shade and sibuyanensis is a highlander. It would be worth getting a lux meter and measuring how much light there actually is. Humans eyes cant judge light levels.
dont forget mirabilis, impossible to overwater, dont need high temperatures all the time (but love it when they get it), shade tolerant and fast growing in the right conditions.
When I visited Cal. Carn. a few days ago they were growing a Sib. in lowland conditions. Also, Winstubas website lists that plant as a lowlander. I think it would like intermediate conditions.

Hello!
I am thinking of giving Nepenthes another crack after 3 years with no luck in a terrarium with a cheap - o 'grow light'
I am thinking of getting this greenhouse.
Ill adds a small swamp cooler, heater, humidifier, and thermostat to keep everything in check.
I'll put this little greenhouse on my patio that gets shade all day except late afternoon when the sun is setting.
What species will do best in shade and lowland temperatures? Note: If it turns out that cooler can cool enough to get Highland temps, then I'll definitely grow highlanders. But, I don;t know if any Highlands will like growing in 90% shade.
The first that come to mind are N. sibuyanensis, N. bicalcarata, N. Truncata, and N. Vitchii. I might stick a Titan Arum in there for few years and then send it off to someone who can grow it when it's too big to fit ;P
Thank you for your help!

Here are a few photos of Sequoias in Sequoia National Park.
I highly recommend visiting them if you can. It's an amazing experience seeing the H U G E trees.
Enjoy!
The bark is super light and fluffy, not super dense like you would expect! The red color sticks out of the rest of the trees like a sore thumb!
Some moss growing on a large pine tree. But, trees that normally are huge are tiny with the sequoias in the mix!
A grove of 'young' trees. (I guess these are 500 - 1,000 years old)
That photo above is the main fire scare of General Sherman! No photo will do these trees justice to their size.
General Sherman in all its glory! Its one of the largest living things on our planet.
The photo above is a tree with a burn scar that got inside part of the tree ,but left the fire - resistant bark untouched.
A fallen tree with its roots exposed.
Just look at that color!
You can really see the red color of the bark in this photo.
You can really see the scale of these trees!
Spiderweb in the bark.
A HUGE dead stump!

Hello!
It has been a year or two since I have even been on this forum, so I thought I might return with a bang of photos from California Carnivores!
Note: There Titan Arum has a day or two from opening the day I visited, but sadly I was unable to stay another day to see it in person. (to be honest, a small part of me was glad because of the smell :P) But, they have a live stream on their website here
Enjoy the eye - candy!
This one is a little out of focus, sorry:
If you remember the last time I posted CC photos, my hand was in every shot. This is the only one with my hand in it
They had this rare new species, but I forgot its name. It's so CUTE!
I have plenty more photos, if you want more, please let me know!

Well I got this really nice flava last year with nice pitchers that were almost 3 foot tall, but this year, the pitchers are so small. Could it be because I let it flower? Thanks for the help

I had to look up ' skiter ' and am guessing it translates to ' skeeter ', what we call ' Mozzies' ( mosquitos ) .
If they're breeding in his pool, assuming you don't mean pond, then it doesn't sound like there are any chemicals in the water?...
I'd be tempted to sneak a few ' mosquito fish ' in there under the cover of darkness !.
lol.
-
As said, for the best results then ideally you'd want as much full sun as was viable...
I'm guessing by the " stupid neighbour" comment you guys don't get along ?.
The obvious remedy , if the tree is truely dead, is its removal.
I'm sure a reasonable neighbour faced with the offer of helping to remove/ dispose of the dead tree wouldn't have a problem.....
I'm feeling a dispute though ????,.
We 'get along' but he is just annoying because he never cleans his pool and its a HUGE 'skiter problem!
-
Forgot to ask, is 7 hrs enough light?
-
Wellllll my stupid neighbor has a dead tree thats blocking the light from my poor plants! They only get maybe 7 hrs a day... UGGG
What do I do!? I can't move them cus theres no place safe for them. Either they get hit by a car.. are spreyed with tap water from the sprinklers! UGGGGGGGGG

Never mind. I found a way!
