  1. Congratulation on your first Nepenthes. My first was also a N. Ventrata and I'm sure many others also started out with this hybrid. If you're not carefully they will soon hypnotise you under their spell forcing you to collect as many different hybrids and species as possible. The information provided with the plant sounds very accurate although I'm not sure if the light available in your north-facing window will be enough if you want your plant to keep producing pitchers. As for watering, keep your pot standing on an upturned flower pot and stand this in a shallow tray. When you water your plant, keep watering until the water starts running out of the bottom of the pot and into the tray. With this method it is almost impossible to overwater your plant. The water left in the tray will also increase humidity around your plant. Try to water often, say every two days, unless it gets really hot and then maybe daily. Nepenthes like some air around their roots so the day in between watering should help. Hope this helps and happy growing. Regards Neil
  2. Hi Aaron, If the plant turns out as nice as yours I'll be well chuffed. Gorgeous plant and thanks for the photos. Regards Neil

    ID anybody

Hi Paul, I'm almost certain your plant is whats been mentioned above (khasiana x ventricosa). There were quite a lot going round last year labelled as tobaica. I picked up a few and like yours are also pitchering like no tomorrow. There was one auctioned on CPUK last year some time so if you scroll down in the Auction section you should see it. There is also a link in there about it's ID. Hope this helps and happy growing. Regards Neil
  4. Thanks for all bearing with me and I'll try and be a lot more clued up about all this photo posting stuff in future. Thanks for all your imputs but I understand it's a young plant and hopefully it will thrive and reveal it's true identity. I was originally thinking maybe some rafflesiana but I'm no expert. Hi Lucy, yes it was bought in the Wyevale between Cardiff and Newport. I forgotten what the place is called but it's something ...town. They only had one there but they might have got a new tray in by now. They are on the floor quite near the check-out. If you look on the plastic tag for any of the plants in the "Carnivorous Mix" range there is a photo of one on the tag. There must be loads of these Hybrids out there in the UK as I've seen the same plants in another garden centre although I think someone else must have beaten me to the Nep. Regards Neil
  5. Last try, I promise! I can't let a poxy piece of plastic, silicon and metal get the better of me ( I really hope I don't have to quietly leave CPUK in shame). www.pbase.com/image/29481233 Thanks for all your patience. Especially you Aidan. I promise it's not a N. Ventrata! Regards Neil
  6. Thanks Cromp, I've just uploaded it to another site but I'll also try yours if this doesn't work. Please bear with me as I'm pretty much a computer virgin. Try this please. http://image.pbase.com/u45/corndog13/large...33.P1010033.jpg Hope you can see this otherwise I'll have to go to bed before I throw the computer and myself out of the window. Regards Neil
  7. I really am making a hash of this aren't I. Sorry for wasting everybodies time. If you forgive me try this link http://community.webshots.com/s/image11/6/...62vLAhHK_ph.jpg Regards Neil
  8. Have I done something wrong? When I visit the topic it looks fine to me or doesn't this mean a thing? Any suggestion would be welcome. Regards Neil
  9. Hi All, Pick up this Nepenthes in a Wyevale garden centre about two weeks ago. It was in a tray of Cresco "Carnivorous Mix" and cost a grand total of £2.99. A bargain I'd say. Anyone got any ideas to it's parentage? Hope the photos not too big. If it is many apologies as this is my first time at posting a picture. Regards Neil
  10. Hi, I'm from Aberaman (S. Wales u.k ), about 20 miles north of Cardiff although I grew up in Hong Kong and I'm English.
