  1. Possibly, but seems unlikely. Still you know I've got cacti compost if you want to re-pot it.
  2. Well it does look like its got perlite in it, which cacti compost shouldn't have.
  3. Well the bottle wasn't on it constantly it was there for a bit each day to help keep humidity up, but I've totally stopped using it since that last post
  4. Here's hoping we get a good summer again, might be long and really hot like summer just gone.
  5. Ah right, I'll just have to see how these go
  6. Cool, makes me more confident with putting them outside.
  7. Righto, yeah I have a small lean to green house outside that most of my other plants are in and doing fine. I just wasn't sure if leucophyllas needed something similar or not. So its probably a safe bet to put it in there 'cause the green house is typically around 10*c and below without freezing. Cheers both of you.
  8. Just wondering does this plant require being in a consistantly cold temperature for dormancy or will it tolerate being inside?
  9. I've found out that it is a Stenocereus Dumortieri. Feel free to reply if you disagree, but I'm pretty satisfied with that answer.
  10. Hi, I bought my first cactus from B&Q earlier today and was just wondering if anyone knew what species it is, as I'm totally new to cacti. Cheers, Nick Images http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v247/moonspanner/Photos/Cactus1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v247/moonspanner/Photos/Cactus2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v247/moonspanner/Photos/Cactus3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v247/moonspanner/Photos/Cactus4.jpg
  11. That is very nice indeed
  12. Haha yeah, I agree too there's a few things it looks like but can't say for definite
  13. Alright then, we'll leave it at that
  14. Yep I'd go along with that, as I said earlier that's what it seemed like to me I was just asking for advice to make sure
  15. Righto cheers everyone
  16. Fair enough it does look a bit like the catesbaei but not the others
  17. Sounding more and more like that then, thanks :)
  18. I can see the resemblance to a catesbaei, if I could see what yours looks like that might help confirm it, cheers :)
  19. I did think it might have been a minor x purpurea or something but wasn't sure of it
  20. Fair enough, thanks for the help both of you. Oh and hi neighbor! :)
  21. Bought this plant a while back still not sure exactly what it is, I believe it's a hybrid but I'm not sure what of. Any help would be great cheers.
  22. Yeah I've been leaving it in the sun with half a plastic bottle over it as an improvised propagator.
  23. Ah right, thank you
  24. Well I'm not trying to artificially induce dormancy now, I just keep them in a warm house at the moment and am having to think of somewhere I could put them in winter to allow them to go into dormancy. I was just wondering if there was an ideal temperature for this or not, 'cause I'd rather not keep them somewhere that might kill them or somewhere that might still not be cold enough.
