Does anybody know such a dwarf purpurea?
Defalotus replied to partisangardener's topic in Sarracenia
I have a tiny purp like that. Mine came from Jerry Addington. -
You will. Its pretty easy once you get the hole dug and filled with media.

I don't do anything to my bog besides get the weeds out. I cover it If the temps dip below freezing but my bog just grows naturally. Right now it's rainy season and the bog does have sitting water but it doesn't sit long enough to effect anything negatively. Plants are a lot happier in the bog than pots.

Thanks Gavin! It's around 5 years old.

My bog has holes a lil more than halfway to the top. It stays very boggy. If you have the energy I'd replace the liner.

I use a variety of fertilizer in my pitchers. Even miracle gro.

Sarracenia seedlings - dormancy in first year?
Defalotus replied to lesthegringo's topic in Sarracenia
Yes, you can skip dormancy the first couple years. -
I've had them take months to germinate. I grow both of the seed you're terminating outdoors and bring them in during the winter.
-
They should be fine. Drosera seeds can take a while to germinate.

Try doing a fridge stray...its more controlled and you get better results. Just put the seeds on a moist paper towel, put the paper towel in a baggie and leave in the fridge for 6 weeks. Take out and plant like usual. That's it:).

Thanks! What's the method you're using?

Thanks!
