  1. Why don't you send me a division of your plant and I will grow it for you here and see if it produces the Goldie Characteristics then take some pics, I doubt it will but worth a go.
  2. If you spray provado in the day especially when it's hot it has this effect on most plants as I found out on some of my plants last year unfortunately, including a couple of D. regia. I think you are supposed to use it when your plants are well watered and in no sunlight it seems to burn some of the growth otherwise but the good news is the plants are all OK after a couple of weeks .
  3. If you google S Flava Goldie images you get a few plants looking like the ones posted earlier in this thread, and upon clicking on the images you find some are from some well known experienced growers and don't look anything like the ones I have seen in pictures on here or in person at Mike Kings open day. Could it be that maybe someone is distributing fake Goldie's all over the place to make some money or the plant itself and it's characteristics are unstable or there has been a big mistake by someone distributing the wrong plant accidentally. Seen a lot of Goldie's going for silly money on ebay recently I personally wouldn't want to pay that much money to end up with a plant like that.
  4. I don't know what spider it is, but I would be interested in finding out too as I have seen them before and always wandered what they were.
  5. Mine have been a few days under a month in rainwater and although all the leaves are alive there are still no roots to see! Maybe they need more light? as I have them in a very shaded area with no direct light or maybe it's the rainwater that's making them take longer? I may move a few in to more light, I would still be happy if they start to root within two more weeks.
  6. I have a few available from earlier in the year some 6 months + old and with a few small pitchers and leaves putting on new growth.
  7. I have to agree, mine are not catching hardly any and some are still empty!
  8. Finished the first one and this time made the water trays first in a similar way to how you did yours Andy, before putting the glass on (much easier) I just bought another 6x8 on ebay for £35 so now I just gotta take it down transport it back and build it again (hard work in this heat)and connect them together. The death lady actually said yes I could have her greenhouse for £40 but it was so broken up and neglected it was not worth it. I am going to find a way to connect all the greenhouses up eventually hopefully to have one massive one for sarras mainly and vft's plus I got my heated insulated lean to greenhouse up by the garage where I grow the less hardier stuff. I need all the extra space as I have a lot of seedling crosses and seeds to go in, as well as an ever increasing amount of adult plants. I plan to be doing a lot more growing from seed as I love the idea of playing around creating new hybrids so the new space is definitely needed. Some pics so far of the first one finished. 9. I am in need of about 15 glass panels for my Greenhouse and was wandering if anyone could advise a good place to get some at a good price.

  11. Forgot to mention top watering with a watering can with a rose sprinkler on a few times usually clears it up for me.
  12. This is probably what it is. I get it on all new compost I use, it does go eventually but can take a few months but does not seem to harm the plants in any way.
  13. Fantastic pictures your plants look great. love the dark moorei.
  14. Busy and nicely tanned thanks to the great weather. £0 spent so far I salvaged most materials for free including the staging. There is a greenhouse up the road with grass and weeds growing out of the windows and roof and looks like it's not been used for years do you think it's cheeky if I went round and asked if I could have it? I don't know the person who lives there directly but I am told it is a very old lady who is death and weary of answering the door, so might be a bit of a nightmare.
  15. Slight change of plan, I got the area ready and was offered a free 6x8 Greenhouse which I couldn't turn down. So I binned the polytunnel idea. I just need to find another 6x8 or 6x6 to attach to the one I already have to make it into one larger Greenhouse. Shame I cant connect all the greenhouses in that area up but the one I already have there is 8'8 x 7'4 approx. and a different shape and size so don't think I can. 16. Me neither, I just do and don't ask anymore and keep things as tidy as I can and all is forgotten in a week or two. I have set up water butts from the conservatory, shed and house gutters and they are out of the way and out of view a bit more.
  17. Invest in some more water butts cheap containers old bins etc wheely bins are good! I ran out of water 2 years ago and now have 7 or 8 water butts add some hosing to put them together or more guttering or even put them next to each other and get a cheap water pump and fill the empty ones over winter when your main one is full and repeat the process until they are filled. I still have 3 and a half still full right now whereas I would have been dry weeks ago. The cost of water these days when on a meter and the wastage they produce puts me off getting one of these but I suppose they are good for a back up. With no rain for 3 weeks forecast those RO units will be running on overdrive.
  18. Yeah Provado bug clear is good for flytraps. I always give new plants a spray and change the soil media when receiving new plants to avoid getting unwanted guests.
  19. I re pot flytraps anytime of the year although most people think it's better to do in Autumn or Spring. But if you need to re pot due to plant suffering and not doing very well or bad media then re potting it is probably best, but if it's a general re pot for no real reason maybe wait until Autumn.
  20. Only had them since Mike Kings open day whenever that was sometime in June? I have seen some size increases when re potting young Sarra seedlings in new peat from old peat before, but never with that much of a size increase in such a short period of time. To be honest I expected them to sulk for a while after re potting as it being mid summer and leuco's not appreciating root disturbance much.
  21. ada, I actually re potted and split up those seedlings when I got home in some new Shamrock Peat and I only just noticed today that they are producing much larger pitchers some are over double the size of the old ones were when I received them.
