  1. The Carnivorous Plant Society open day, the second event I have hosted, three greenhouses to view, plants for sale and food to eat :) Please bring any of your own surplus plants for sale or exchange.

    Please PM if you are coming so I have a rough idea of numbers.

    Located in Gravesend, Kent

    PM for full address.

    1-5, Saturday 6th June, but I'm here all day :)

  2. Thanks for the comments guys, I'm hoping to do another open day next year so watch the calender for details.

    My garden gets too much shade to allow me to grow my plants well on the floor so I extended one of the greenhouses upwards. I got half an old greenhouse that was being dumped locally free of charge and cannibalised it, most of the glass had to be cut to size. It takes a bit of snow fall without trouble, but I don't allow too much of it to build up and become heavy.

    Thanks for adding the photos Elvis, nice shots !

  3. Hi all,

    After collecting CPs for almost twenty years, I am holding my first CPS open day on Sat. 14th June, 10am-3pm. I have an extensive collection spread over three greenhouses and two ponds, mostly sarracenia, but also dionaea, droser, nepenthes, utricularia and heliamphora. I am hoping people will bring some plants to sell, so feel free to clear your surplus stock or hopefully pick up a bargain! My address is;

    120 Astra Drive

    Gravesend

    Kent

    DA12 4QE

    Non members also welcome. PM or find me on facebook me for further details or to let me know you are coming so I have an  idea of numbers- hope to see a few of you there!

  4. I don't have any particular reason for thinking it is montana, only that McPherson describes the lid as being curved in on itseldf as this one does, but I don't know what degree of curvature it is possible for a plant to have and still be considered "typical"!

    Hi,

    It will have to be oreophila "purple throat / heavy veined as I only bought the IP1 a few weeks ago and have none spare yet.

    therefore, I will send you oreophila "purple throat / heavy veined" and Dionaea "cup trap"

    and you will send me PV33 var.venosa. Green, anthocyanin free form and your choice of ether PV17 var. burkii Large form

    or PV20 var. burkii. Large form (whichever will eventually grow largest would be my first choice, rather than the one you have the biggest spare of).

    My postal address is;

    send me your address and I will post tomorrow or the day after.

    thanks for the exchange,

    James

    Hi,

    I definately have spares of heterophylla, royal red and shark's tooth. I can possibly take smaller divisions of others if you tell me what you are interested in. I would prefer to swap for another sarracenia other than purpurea this time, do you have anything else? if not sarracenia, I am also looking for interesting named dionea clones I don't have as well utric. inflata and aldrovanda.

    regards,

    James

    "How many rizoma have ?" - sorry, I don't understand this question-what did you mean?

    Hi,

    The oreophila is an almost mature plant with a 2-3cm rhizome, no flowers this year but pitchers should be close to full size.

    royal red and sharks tooth are approx 2cm diameter.

    I don't have any small leaucophylla cuttings, but I grew leauco "gas station site" from seed last year-would two seedlings be ok with you?
