  1. I managed some tray methods but nothing permanent That is super, very compact and cheap i will definitely consider that, thanks so much for sharing.
  2. That's an awesome idea, especially as i already got a garden table outside by them, will def give a go! Think i will try this also, thanks for your suggestions :)
  3. Hi, I live in Mid-Wales in UK so we usually have plenty of rain but now summer is coming we are getting periods of water shortage and luckily my grandmother only lives down the road and i collect rain water from her water butt for my CP's (I have quite a few inside and outside!), but carrying various bottles of water from her house everyday is tiring so i am wondering if there is any make-shift rain water catchers i could make/buy? I don't have enough room for a water butt in my own garden, i have used standard wide containers in the past to catch rain water but it ofen evaporates as quick as it comes in them. Anyone use any other methods?
  4. Thanks Mujinamo, i certainly won't bother with one outside again, such a shame. Yes thats handy for the temperature drop just at night.
  5. It's much the same shriveled, lost all colour and almost 'dry' looking, almost as if it's gone into dormancy? Although i insist it's not dead. Yes, certainly much harder than the others i have had. That's the thing the sunlight is whats good to be extra careful on, whats it like in Stockholm? here it's unpredictable at the moment, thunderstorms today, heatwave yesterday! Not good for the CP's
  6. I don't have near as much experience as many of the others here on this forum, but i think it would work fine, especially as the biorb air itself is designed as a terrarium. I didn't actually realise the item existed until i saw your post (and link), it seems awesome. If i had the money, i would probably buy one. The CPS would look awesome in there and personally would think they be perfect. PS. If you do buy, please make a thread or keep us updated on how there all doing in there!! :)
  7. Thanks! I'm glad it's doing so well, shows everyone on this forum is keen for others to enjoy the exciting hobby of carnivorous plants. Hopefully i plan to do something like this for next season! :)
  8. Hi Vince, Thanks for that, i think i will learn by this experience and next time, grow indoors.
  9. That is a great shame, i bet it can be difficult to source specific plants if that is the case, at least on here there are lots of access to plants and online plant stores links i recently bought some from Poland. I havn't but i was due to go 3 weeks ago on holiday (to Stockholm, then Malmo) but couldn't go due to personal circumstance, however i do wish to live there which (at 21 years of age) on my own would be a huge step, but i love the people, i want swedish friends, and love the culture.
  10. This doesn't surprise me Mantrid just hope it does recover! :) Thank you Mark, yes i suppose it depends on each individual case, shame though, i want the little buggar to succeed ha! Same i have seen lovely specimens too. I find neps difficult so i will little hope with this :/ I suppose it's all about trial and error Thanks guys
  11. This is impressive, wish i had the time/effort/money/space/patience/resources to do that. Amazingg!!
  12. Thanks JMHoff, i notice your from Stockholm. Sweden my fave country!! :) What's it like out there CP-wise? The fertilizer i won't bother buying again, nothing special. As for the orchid fertilizer it certainly hasn't done any harm so whether or not it's any good it's hard to tell. UPDATE: All doing well except for the one drosera In the green tub i did plant butterworts in between them because i am so limited for room
  13. Hey Guys, As i said in my bog garden thread i am not 'spoilt' for room in my garden, or indoors for that matter But these are my INDOOR carnivorous-plants, to me they all seem to be doing ok. I am assuming by luck of how good they grow, east facing is ideal (this is lucky as no other windowsill available!) Let me know what you think of my little indoor collection. Monkey Cups (New in from Poland) - Only had for couple of weeks (I have now added a plastic bag over one for increased humidity?) Venus FlyTrap - New from Poland Baby VFT, Butterwort and a Saraccenia i rescued from an inexperienced shop (It was left bone dry!!) The other Saraccenia i rescued from the shop (it too was left bone dry). and finally a corkscrew sundew (only one not doing too well??
  14. Hey guys, my latest batch of plants i bought from POLAND. They arrived the other day and i planted them straight away, some indoors and others outdoors (larger plants). I am limited for room so most went outside. The Heliamphora i bought was a truely beautiful specimen so i planted instantly and thought that would grow the best out of all the CPs, but it's been slowly 'wilting' since? It's planted here in Mid-Wales, UK so has the change of environment had an effect? Looking at others care guides, i come to the conclusion he was probably better grown indoors http://i1070.photobucket.com/albums/u488/owenmanuel/IMAG0605_zpsd90xyza7.jpg
  15. HI James and welcome. I love Sweden (so fascinated by culture etc.) Let me know how your rescues get on! :)
  16. Hi, I don't usually watch the RHS Chelsea Flower show, especially as it's on over 5 nights. I was wondering is there any carnivorous plants shown at all throughout, and if so could anyone point me in the right direction in terms of which episode? So i can look on iplayer. Thanks Owen
  17. I do have two more questions i was wondering if anyone could shed some light on? 1. The brown pitcher tops (as you can see from the pictures), i have noticed there is white fluffy stuff starting to grow, if this is fungi would you recommend me cutting off the tops (up to the green like on most normal plants) OR does it not grow back and masewell cut off the whole pitcher? Thanks 2. The flowers have grown VERY high (to the extent where it's half snapped off from the wind!), on the pitchers are these like VFT where i might as well remove these as it is taking strength/resources from the traps? I am not 'advanced' enough to do any fertilization or anything yet, so should i cut them off the pitchers like i did on the VFT? Thanks and really appreciate the help :)
  18. Oh good, i'm glad mine isn't the only one and yes i did think about acclimation. Glad you have managed to place them in a sunny position, i did not know CPS benefit from orchard feed? Is this something you recommend as is available in my local shop? :) I didn't realise it was early, so i am relieved. Funny how you said that, i have just come in from outside now having mixed in some more perlite!!! :)!
