Hi everyone, there are two 3" nepenthes from Simon coming to me at the moment; I have a ΓΈ 20cm pot, but it is not deep indeed, quite low instead..how can I say..larger than deep. I was thinking to arrange them together in there.. do you think it fits to their "radical apparatus" or they need something deeper? cheers giuseppe

Hi dan, I tried with 8 Tacca Chantrieri seeds last August: three of them have germinated after three weeks (I lost 1 seedling the others? I'm still waiting (I Know they could take even 9 months...) I hope they germinate for you! giuseppe

ok vic, thank you I think I'll do as you suggest, especially if the ants are nesting in the compost; among other things at the moment the ratio peat/perlite is not 3:1, it is 1:1. In Italy someone suggests that ratio..dash it giuseppe

thanks Vic! Maybe I'd better soak that plants for a while (without shaking out the compost from roots)? What do you suggest? I don't know if that has nothing to do with: that compost is particularly rich in vermiculite.. giuseppe

Dear all, I've just discovered a number of ants running about on the pitchers and in the pot where I grow some of my sarracenias. Should I worry about that? Shoud I try to eliminate them and in the case I could I do that? please help me :cry: thanks giuseppe

Hi Aidan, since I'm going to receive my first cobra and I'm quite worried (Will I be able to find sphagnum?), please could you tell me if I can avoid using it? Is it possible to treat it like a sarra (50% perlite,50%peat as compost, no sphagnum on the top)? Do you think I 'd better use a ceramics pot? thanks a lot for your help.. giuseppe
