Suberb looking plants!
Happy Growing

Looking good Andy.
Are you planning to do something with the flower?
Happy Growing!

After some days some new pictures.

My first greenhouse grown flower of this year, it's a flava var. rugelii

This will be my second opening flower, an anthocyanin free venosa.

And my S. x "Tina" will be the third to flower this year.

My f.luteola is finally growing a stem under the flowerbud, it's now growing about 2 cm a day.

The Probo's are doing fine as well, compaire them with the pictures of 3 days ago.

The Sarracenia seed is also germinating very good.

I also moved my Heliamphora outside, since the temperatures are good and the sun is not that intense yet.

Brook Hybrid is growing very hard, it has grown 10 cm in 3 days.

And last but not least, my Cephalotus seedlings, I moved them outside today, the germination rate was very good, I have about 50 small Cephalotus seeds now.
Adrian, thanks for the highly viable seeds

Thanks for watching!

New pitchers over here too, The flower is about one week from flowering now.
I will post some pictures of it when it is fully open.
Happy Growing!
-
@ Adrian: I will keep you all updated about the "Tina" flower.
@ Phil: When this plant was grown as a seedling some years ago and all the brothers and sisters where Rugelii's.
So the chance of this not being a rugelii is nearly 0%.
Though you're right on it, I need to cross it with some flava maxima to see what's really hiding behind there.
If there is any coloration(besides the rugelii patch) on the 2nd generation plants it's clearly this isn't a rugelii.
I will make that cross in some years to find out.
@ All of you: Thanks for your nice comments! I will post pictures when the first pitchers or flowers open.

I forgot about these two.

A luteola F2 plant making a flower for me.

Antho free flava rugelii, Telogia, FL. MK F238. It looks like this will go a nice size this year.

S. "Tina" making a flower for me

The pitchers are still looking good

Montana Tom's swamp,Rabun County, MK PV38. Making a flower for me too.

My own crossed seeds starting to grow, I thought the germination wouln't be good, that's because I sowed them so close.

Dionaea's starting to grow too

And finally, My S. x 'Adrian Slack' is going to make some nice pitchers for me too now.
Thanks for watching and Happy growing this year!

Hi Guys,
I have my new camera for two days now, so I'm still figuring out a lot of options.
The Pictures where taken with a Canon EOS 7D with the EFS 15-85mm lens.
Please don't blame me for the bad focusing, it's a completely new focusing systim on this camera and I was used to my canon 400D.
Enough talking, here are some pictures:
First of all, not a CP, but a very nice flower.
MY Amaryllis flower is very big this year, 26 cm in diameter:

Here is a quick look from my greenhouse this afternoon, I hope you enjoy them:

Here are some individual plants wich are growing already

My largest stalk currently, it's from a S. x moorei.

Brooks Hybrid has my largest pitcher currently, it will be much bigger than last year fortunately.

Two P.louisianica seedlings growing very fast now, they are also annoingly sticky.

Rugelii from Sumatra is making a lot of pitcher at once.

Purpurea venosa Burkii Luteola Seedling, this one was very early this year.

Also a very small luteola wich made it to the winter, I was sure I lost this one, but I'm happy it's starting again.

Drosera filiformis var. tracy is also startingto get sticky again.

Burkii also growing nicely.

A very nice Dionaea plant, this was a hitchhiker with a normal gardencentre plant. I hope it is stabile.

'Leah Wilkerson' just starting to grow

MK F88 making a flowerbut, I will cross it with my venosa montana. There will be some nice x catesbaeis in a few years.

Antho free minor starting to grow happily

A flava var. maxima now still red.

Some Sarracenia's are now about two weeks from flowering here, Also most of my plants started on their folliage

Yesterday I went mountainbiking in a swampy area, unfortunately we needed to cancel it, since there where just too much frogs on the trails.
They where all heading the same direction, towards the water of course.
After walking carfully to a nearby pool it was black of frog eggs, you just couldn't see any open water anymore.
Spring is defenately coming over here

-
Hey Adrian,
Never knew those things had multiple functions.
It looks custom made for your greenhouse

You now need to find something that repots your plants automaticly.
Then you can give your back all the rest it needs

-
My "Tina" plant is making a flowerstalk now, Is there somebody out there with a decent picture of a true 'Sorrow' flower? (not the one of the ICPS website, it's to pale)
This way it's possible to compaire both flowers.
I didn't find any other information about "Tina" unfortunately, I really hope I can get in tough with Freddy this year.
In the meantime Karnivores.com is still naming their "Tina" plants as true 'Sorrow' examples, very dissapointing
, though they are sold out at the moment.I tried to contact them a couple of times in the last months, but they never repied to my emails again, I think they only want to make profit on my information(wich is not yet confirmed
) Happy growing!
-
Thanks Jens!
Here are some pictures of my diagonally grown Cephlalotus.

Btw: This is a picture of the 'Hummers Giant' I got from you last year in Ghent, It's doing great! It only had 3 pitchers then.

Perfect combination!! Stunning macro shots!!

Well done Maverick.

Iggy
Thanks :)
I will get a Canon EOS 7D in a few weeks, so I will have even more fun

-
Very nice flower your've grown there! Well done.
Thanks for sharing

-
Here are some new shots from my other cephalotus flowering:

You can see the 6 seeds inside already

Enjoy!

@ Andreas: Yes, I grow my Ceps all year round at the highest gear they can go. The only "dormancy" they get is when they are in the greenhouse in automn and temperatures are dropping, then they slow down for about 2 too 3 weeks, but then they go onder the lights and go outdore again in spring.
@ Prized: If there are viable seeds I will swap them I think with some Sarracenia, since there is my main interest and I already have some Cephalotus seedlings about 2 weeks old.
@M.A.X.: I use a Canon EOS 400D, this in combination with a Sigma 150mm macro lens.
You have no idea how happy these plants can make a 16 year old, and all these nice words make me even happier

Thanks all!

Amazing photos and fantastic plants, thanks a lot for sharing!
I really like the leucopylla on the C06 picture.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the kind words,
I forgot to tell you that I grow them 50 cm underneath a 80 watt growing light to get them thru winter.
My light burns at 16 hours a day, so they think it's summer...

Laurens

I use my standard Sarracenia mix for them 50:50 peat perlite.
I grow mine under lights now and 2 out of 7 are flowering.
I have my biggest plants in a 15x15x15cm pot and one the others in 9x9x10cm.
One of these in a 9x9x10cm pot is also flowering now.
Good luck!!

It looks fantastic Stephen, both the pictures and the automatic slide show.
Click, sit back and relax

Thanks for sharing!

Hey Marcel,
Looking good, it really increased in height. Well done.
I'm interested if this will also turn out as big as the plant we've seen at the EEE in the exibition, then you will need a lot more space.
Happy Growing!

There are two flava lidless clones, an all red one witch I've seen at Mikes there is also a flava var. flava... I've seen a picture somewhere, but don't ask me where.
There is also a kind of moorei lidless, there was a huge pot burster at the EEE in Ghent this year, I don't know any more about that unfortunately.
This one didn't look as weak as the lidless flava's I've seen. The pitchers where very tough and big, just like brooks hybrid.
And there is S. leucophylla 'Bris' you can see a picture over here: http://www.carnivorousplants.org/cpn/Speci...44_46.html#Bris
I'm also pretty interested in them, especially in the 'Bris'

Spring is here
