  1. Hi Tim, I was there at the same time when the captain discovered there was not enough food. So I saw Tim was getting very excited. After a few minutes I tried to calm him down a bit. I'm glad nobody was getting angry on Tim, Dennis or anyone else of the UK-board. It's not their fault. I feel sorry for Tim, because it's his first year as a chairman of the Uk-society and I'm quite sure he want to have a proper meal on the boat. I orginised 3 international events, 2x EEE (2002 and 2007) and 1x ICPS (2010) with the full board of Carnivora and I know things could go wrong. I don't say I like things can go wrong, but even if you check every single detail 2 or 3 times even than things can go wrong. Is there anyone here who'll say orginising an EEE or ICPS is easy? Hope everything go well and good luck with the fight against the boat. Take care, Wouter
  2. Hi to all, Next weekend the party begins at Chester Zoo. I can't wait to see and talk to you all. And pay a visit to the Zoo of course. Do they have 20 meter Great White sharks at Chester Zoo?? Till next weekend, Wouter Noordeloos
  3. Hi All, A few weeks ago I replied to this topic about a dutch CP-nursery Carniflora above. I want to ad some more details about order plants; Normally Carniflora only sell plants for cash and Carry, whole-sale and flower-auction. Or large gardencentres order directly from them. Many members want to have plants from them, but you can't order from thme directly. Most of their customers are inside Holland. Occasionally plants go to France or Italy, so they don't sent many plants outside Holland the last few weeks some members asked me for their e-mail adress, but I don't give details unless they are looking for whole-sale. If you want their plants I have 2 possibillities; -I orginise a trip to Carniflora at Saturday 21st of May 2011 from 10:00 till 13:00 Everyone can visit this nursery and buy plants. Gert Hoogenstrijd will be sell his plants too. If you want to visit Carniflora I can send more details. -Gert Hoogenstrijd has all the plants from Carniflora on his website http://www.extreme-plants.eu/ Take care, Wouter
  4. Hi Valzergues, There are 3 CP-nurseries in Holland as many of the members know on this forum, but they all don't sell plants to us, but only for wholesale and flowerauctions. One of them is called Carniflora, you can find their plants alle over Europe. I visit them about 5 or 6 times each year to get plants for re-sale, like last August during the ICPS-conference at Leiden, Holland. Their website; www.carniflora.nl Carniflora is growing more the basic CP's like VFT, Drosera capensis and a few Sarracenia hybrids, like the S. x 'Juthatip Soper'. But they also grow Cephalotus and Darlingtonia out of Tissue Culture. These plants are not hardened off, so it's difficult to keep them alive for a longer period. There are 3 others, but not that large or special. If anyone want to have plants of them you have to contact them personally. Beware off ordering outside Europe there is lots of paperwork to be done. Take care, Wouter
  5. Hi to all, I asked the seller a question; When were the seeds harvested and how do you grow your own plants? This was his answer; The seeds were wild collected 5-6 weeks ago by a friend from Czech. I do grow this species but I only have two young tc plants. Take care, Wouter
  6. Hi Phil, Isn't this our good pal Jasper Knight again? Or just another chap try fool us. He was on E-bay at December 2009 offering several kinds of Nepenthes seeds. Finally he stopped, but only after many messages on this forum. I'' ll keep an eye on this too. Take care, Wouter
  7. Hm..Next time they offer Sarracenia's with pitchers of 20 meters high. Take care, Wouter
  8. Hi, I agree with the last post. Did you have a closer look at the pitchers to see if there is any attack of Thrips? I should trim back all the brown pitchers ASAP and take a close look if there is anything attack your plants. Take care, Wouter
  9. Hi all, Sad, really sad. Everywhere around the world large buisiness parks and at least 5 golf-courses are more important as nature. And what if the buisiness park fails? money gone, plants gone, everything gone! Take care, Wouter
  10. Hi Tim, Very good work so far. I hope many members from all over europe will try to get to Chester Zoo. Take care, Wouter
  11. Hi Francois, Thanks for sharing the pics of your visit to Christian Klein. 1 of the pics was an orchid with a small flower in the middle of the leave, you didn't know the name of the genus. I do; Pleurothallis Take care, Wouter
  12. Hi Phil, I looked on Ebay and the Nepenthes edwardsiana are already gone. Very good you post to warn everyone. Take care, Wouter
  13. Dear all, So far the EEE 2011 is looking very good, well done Tim and Dennis. As 1 of the founders of the EEE I hope I'll be able to be there too. I must commit it was far from easy to choose which country/society will host the EEE 2011. The 2 Tsjechien CP-societies, Darwiniana and CCP both claim the EEE of 2011 after the split up in 2007. Very pitty. After a little chat at Leiden, during the ICPS, last August, we decided to give the CPUK the EEE 2011. The Chairmen of the CPUK, Steve Cottel was also with this discussion. The night after the chat I e-mailed Phil Wilson the good news Very curious about the show, like slide-shows, exhibition and perhaps a fieltrip? Once agian, very good so far Tim and Dennis! Take care, Wouter Noordeloos
  14. Hi all, I also like the blue one. Very good work. Take care, Wouter
  15. Hi Diane, about the talk of David Ahrens; At Leiden, Holland, last August wasn't an EEE but an ICPS-conference. I'm sure David knows that. Take care, Wouter
  16. Hi Andy, I sold also the GFP Calender at the ICPS-conference at Leiden 2 weeks ago. The chairman of the GFP, Carsten, bring 3 boxes of calenders for sale. At the plantsale of the ICPS-conference we had a dry corner selling books and seeds from everyone, so no contact with plants to provide the books getting wet or dirty. I believe I sold about 24 calenders during the weekend of the Plantsale and gave the money to Carsten. I also bought 5 myself for re-sale for our members (Carnivora). There only 2 left by now. Good work, guys, to make a very good calender every year. Take care, Wouter Noordeloos
  17. Dear Fernando, Christian and others, The ICPS was indeed a succes, thanks all for the wonderfull time. Last Sunday it was the last day for the exhibition and the plantsale at the first floor and I can say many people visit the exhibition and bought plants. Totally there were about 8250 visitors during the 10 days and I think that's a good result. Today (Monday) and Tuesday I'll very busy to bring the plants from the exhibition back where they belong and the remains of the Plantsale to my greenhouse. Just want to say thank you all who visit the ICPS thanks for the wonderfull weekend. Can't wait for the next EEE or ICPS. Take care, Wouter Noordeloos
  18. Hi Emiel, In Holland there is 1 spot where you can find Drosera x obovata, but only a few people know this. Leuke foto's trouwens... Take care, Wouter
  19. Hi All, I know the label in the blue label was shown . It's NOT Carniflora, but another dutch nursery of waterplants that's grows a small range of Sarracenia's, all of them wrong labelled. This company, specialized in waterplants started to grow a few Sarracenia-species and hybrids 2 years ago. www.moerings.com Ironicly they not mention Sarracenia's on their website. The Sarrnia's look quite different than the greenhouse Sarrenia's which we used to see at the gardencentres. First they grow the plants outside I think, becauce the pitchers are very compact and they are very clump-forming (I think because of TC) And all the plants are lack of good coloration. I don't like their plants, I prefer Carnifloraplants because they look more colourfull and proper. I'm a boardmember of the dutch CP society Carnivora and orginising the events and plantsales. I really like the plants of Carniflora more than the plants from Moerings. Take care, Wouter
  20. Hi Congrats with the Gold Medals all! 2 years ago I visit Chelsea together with my wife and with our chairman Marcel van den Broek. On the Friday we helped the UK society to assist. Take care, Wouter
  21. Dear all, At the 8th ICPS-conference 2010 at Leiden, Holland, we have only a few meters left at the Plantsale. If anyone on this forum want to sell plants can order an table of 2 meters. Please, reply subscribe ASAP as we are running out of time. If there at the end of June are any meters left I’m going to give these meters to other sellers which already subscribed. The Plantsale is only on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 August. On Friday noon you can start to build up your selltable. We ask a rent of €10,- for each meter each day. If you’re interested selling plants, please contact ASAP me [email protected] For further info and a list which sellers are already subscribed, visit our website and go to the ICPS-link; www.carnivora.nl Take care, Wouter Noordeloos
  22. Hi Kiwi Earl and all, Really stunning! I love all the hybrids involving S. leucophylla, S. oreophila and S. minor. I also have a nice clone of S. leucophylla x S. oreophila. I grow this plant in a 21 cm container with 3 or 4 growing points and hope it wil produce a nice bush of pitchers next spring and summer so I can use them for the exhibition at the ICPS-conference. Take care, Wouter Noordeloos
  23. hi All, Last summer I got a large bunch of seeds from Utricularia bisquamata white flower, because I keep the Sedbank of our society. I'm not the owner of the plant where the seeds came from, but I got 1 plant of him. 2 weeks ago I saw some seeds from the above plant, but so far no results. My opinion is better to devide adult plants with U. bisquamata. Last March I devide bisquamata Betty's Bay inot 4 or 5 clumps and put into 9 cm pots which are fully grown and flowering the whole summer. Next spring I devide them once again. Take care, Wouter
  24. Hi, For me; S. x excellens. Take care, Wouter
